The history of Sapienza University of Rome

Sapienza University of Rome is one of the oldest universities in Europe. Founded in 1303 by Pope Boniface VIII, it was established as a place of study, research, and education at the service of the city and the community.

Over the centuries, Sapienza has grown alongside Rome, becoming a national and international reference point for scientific, humanistic, and medical knowledge.

The link between the university, healthcare, and the local area is at the heart of its mission. Through teaching, research, and the Third Mission, Sapienza promotes projects capable of creating public value and making knowledge accessible.

ACCESS PS was born in this context: a project designed to accompany citizens and patients in accessing the Emergency Department, enhancing the relationship between education, research, and assistance.
